How will I know if I have been shortlised for an interview?

Shortlisted candidates are generally contacted within 3 weeks of the closing date. We are unable to acknowledge the receipt of application forms received throught the post but you are more than welcome to telephone and check that your application has been received. If you are not shortlisted but still wish to be notified, please enclose a stamped addressed envelope with your application and you will be notified after an appointment has been made.

What formats does the application form come in?

On line and paper format - to apply on-line via our e-recruitment website, select Register/Login. You can stop and save your application at any point and go back and make amendments, if needed, before your submit your application.

Our on line application form requests the same information as our paper copy application form. It lets you complete the application form electronically and submit it directly to us in a quick and convenient way.

How will I know if you have received my application form? 

If you apply on line, applicants automatically get an acknowledgement to say we have received your application form. However, we are unable to acknowledge the receipt of application forms received throught the post but you are more than welcome to telephone and check that your application has been received. Can I apply for more than one job with Exeter City Council?

When you apply on line the system will already have your basic details already completed so you will only need to re-enter your reasons for applying under the supporting information section.

Does Exeter City Council accept CVs?

Unfortunately, we do not currently accept CVs, only applications for specific posts.

Is the closing date set in tablets of stone?

All applications must be submitted by the closing date. Any applicant who has partially completed an on line application form will receive an email reminder before the closing date, reminding them that if they wish to submit their application they only have a limited number of hours to do so.
